So I haven't even picked up my XJ yet and I'm thinking about my next bike. The Xj is my first street bike and as such will help me to learn the moto way. I'll use it for both fun rides and commuting. My wife loves it and really likes the low seat. I'm thinking that I get it running sweet and safe for her, and then maybe find me another XJ in the spring.
In a year or two I may want something with a bit less maintenance and a bit more power. I love the naked look who doesn't?

I really love the new FZ8. It's one of the few new naked bikes available in th US. I actually first found the FZ8 and then want back to its forbears for an older/cheaper bike. As an 800 the FZ8 fits the bill as large enough for two up while not being too big like a liter bike.
Here I am sitting on one, maybe in a couple year I'll be able to score a used one for about $5K.

I got my next bike last march it's a 09 vstar 950 very nice comfortable bike I'm not too much of a rocket guy but anything that's got a motor and 2 wheels I'll ride.
Some of those naked bikes aren't to bad either have kind of a street fighter look to them I wouldn't mind one of those.

"As an 800 the FZ8 fits the bill as large enough for two up while not being too big like a liter bike. "....hahaha.....in a year or two you'll wonder how you could have said that.
that FZ8 is a nice bike, i looked at them myself, then went with the used liter bike

I guess I'm just an old, old man, I don't want anything new, none of it appeals to me. I don't care for Harleys, everybody has one, can't ride the road rockets, I'm too proud to ride a scooter, why can't cycle makers make bikes the way I like them? So I will continue to buy old Jap bikes to restore.

The new Triumph Bonnies retain the classic look with updated brakes and fuel injection ( the injectors are even inside a carb body for looks)

I love the FZ8 but the Bonnie would definetly be my second choice. Looks a bit familiar doesn't it.

Next bike is gonna be a late 70s Kawasaki KZ, caffed as well. Once I get that complete, I'll probably switch the Maxim back into a bobber with drag bars.

I've got my sights set on a 2000-2007 BMW f650gs. One cylinder, go anywhere! Afterall of these carbs I'm liking the simple approach.

Those FZ8s are sweet though, I like them for the same reasons. Nice seating position, not racelike, not too laid back. Sat on one in ly local shop... that would be my second choice I think.

I'm for simplicity also. I like the way the 750 Seca runs, but not liking all the carbs and electrica crap I came with (disabled most of it already)
I like my 1100 Shadow, but I still want the smaller version of it with an '06 or older 750 Shadow. Easy to ride and work on. Perfect for work and running around. Don't need no speedy rocket (getting older does change priorities to some degree) and cruising is alot more enjoyable now for me. I need to go back and see some of the things I missed when I was younger.

D, you nailed it; except I already have mine. I built my 550 Seca (the "personalized" one) to be an all-day comfortable bike, and succeeded. Upgraded suspension, reconfigured riding position and "platform" with an up-foamed custom seat=all day comfort for my lanky, ancient arse.

But I'd still trade all 3 Secas for one of these, if they'd only bring them here; this is an '05, the last year for dual mufflers:

Budget just won't allow me to go for anything great for my next bike. But, if budget wasn't an issue it would be the Bonneville. Since it is, either a Kawi Concours or a late model Nighthawk 750.

My next purchased bike will be an FJR1300; what year I'm not sure. Dang Yamaha with their "one-color-per-model-year" philosophy.

Probably the next bike I'll be riding with some regularity is the vintage suicide-shift Harley my dad and I are restoring.
