81 Seca 750 " Hitachis" Any one have experience removing stuck carb float bowl drain screws?
I have new ones, so " messing up" these is not a problem, as long as threads in holes remain good/usable. thanks-

I to have the same issue, but I just guessed on the float height instead of using a gauge...

Where did you get the new screws? Or are they just your standard set screws?

I had the same problem awhile ago with stuck drain screws on my Hitachi carbs. Tried all the suggestions from the blokes on here but in the end had to use an easyout which worked a treat. Got them out without any damage to the carbs and the stainless steel screws I bought from a guy on here, Arizona Steve I think, are doing a good job. The Allen key ends also make it a lot easier to drain the carbs in situ.

Not sure but have you tried taking the float bowls off and put them on a cookie sheet and heat them in the oven?
BE SURE TO WASH OFF ANY GAS RESEDUE 1st

Try some penetrant while it's heating it might loosen them!?

I had this problem with mine and was able to get them out after heating them. I took mine to my laboratory and heated the inside of the bowl where the screw is over a bunsen burner. Then held with oven mitts I was able to break the screws loose. An impact driver is a great tool for these also. I saw one at Auto Zone for $15. Not a bad price.

And love them. You'll never strip the head out of those.

Use the Impact Method. But, don't fracture a bowl.

When you get them out ... throw 'em out ... and get the Stainless!

See my FAQ on the hammer and chisel method. My carb screws were stuck too. It worked perfectly.
