first stop. Car wash. bike had been kept for 2 years in a shed with no door.... soooo needless to say it needed a bath.

the story is... the PO had bought it to bomb around town on, scared him self and parked it. he had bought it from a motorcycle mechanic who had changed out the fuse panel and some other regular maintenance from what i can see.

the kickstand switch was sooo bunged up i just removed the whole assembly. and had to lose those awful bars!!!

next was that seat! had to go!!! along with the rest of that god-ee frame!

sooo we got the moto bars mounted and chopped frame!

i then checked valves and replaced the valve cover gasket and rubber as it was leaking!

    seat time! street sign

Howdy from Las Vegas, I think you have an 83 not an 82. The 82 has a rectangular head light, and much different instruments. Of cource, I may be wrong as the PO could have changed all this. Is that what it is? Then again, it may be it's a canuck model.

AH HA! I knew it! A good way to tell, if you have no V.I.N. sticker that is, is to look under the tank to see if you have a disconnected fuel sending unit wire. The 83 has no gas gauge.

All XJs have their "shorty" VIN cast into the top of the transmission housing; that's all you need for a positive ID.

What is that outer plate in the end? as it already there?

Mine - also an 83 750 does not have that andi think it looks nice...

If you are doing-away with the Vinyl-wrapped part pf the Sissy-bar; I'll be happy to give it a new home.

I'd like to have Handlebars on my 750-Max like those, too.
    What Brand Name are they?

The seat has a look of being too "Light-weight" in the photos.
The Springs don''t seem to look "Heavy-weight" enough to be comfortable, supportive, and remain positioned very well.

Having that Cross-member so strategically located for a stability and anchor-point, ... you could integrate Composite Elastomers or adapt a Shock-absorbing Seat Post.

You might also want to reconsider re-mounting the front fender as the OEM fender has a built-in fork brace underneath. Or cutting back the fender to the brace, but no front fender will mean lots of road grunge fling.

sorry for the late response, i have been busy though...

1st- the bars are just sunline motocross bars- the cross bracing, you could do to bar adaptor for any motocross style fat bar if you where worried about the missing brace..

2nd- yes i know......:( the seat sucks..... i took it for a ride in the snow the other day and just couldnt get it to feel safe-ish.... sooo its scrapped.... but good news it i got a new one... and some pictures....
