    Hi all,

I'm considering the rear to front wheel swap. I have a '82 maxim 750 and I'm looking for a used rear wheel. I saw a few adds on '82-'83 xj 550 parts. It think that 550 are chain drive.

My question is, would a 550 rear wheel would suit the rear to front wheel swap on my '82 750? Of course, I'm refering to this topic: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=2 ... front.html

    Thanks!

    Lewis

No, the disc adapter bolts to the splines' bolt holes. The 550 would not work. You can use the swirley gig wheel style from the virago though- they have different sized brake drums however, but the guy who makes the kit has the filler for either.
