    Story so far (short version):

Bike not in service for several years.
    Replaced filters, fluids & plugs.
Carbs Ultra-sonic cleaned, bench synched & floats wet set.
Valves back in spec (shims & gaskets from Len).
    Petcock rebuilt & filter installed.
Front & rear disc pads replaced. (waiting on new s/s brake lines)

I will have some time available on the weekend to try & get it going.
The mixture screws are set at 2 1/2 turns out from the bottom....will turning the mixture screw OUT further make it leaner or richer? (I'm pretty sure it will make it richer, but I want to make sure before I start).

    Cheers,

    Tim

just out of curiosity whats the base line settings for the mixture screws? 2 1/2 seems pretty far out to start with.

    2 1/2 ~ 2 3/4, generally. The "book" says 2 1/2, but that's often too lean.
