    Hi everyone,
I have an '82 650 Maxim that I've been playing around with, and I was wondering if anyone had modified a seat are rear fender cover to have the option of taking the double seat off and just having a single seat. ? I'd like to obtain a lower profile when I'm riding alone, but would still like to have the option of putting the stock seat back on for the days my wife and I go out together.
I can build the single seat on my own, but has anyone used anything to cover the back fender area .. wires etc. ?

Thanks in advance, a photo would be appreciated.

Ive seen a few cafe racers that can go from one to another. When i bought my bike the PO had bought another seat and made it a solo and put a hump on the back so it didnt modify anything to go from single to double, only the seat change. It looked good but i took a sawzall to it or id post pics. Seemed like a good idea with a quick change ability.

I'd actually been looking around for ideas for the exact same thing. I found someones project that was pretty close to what I'd been thinking might work, taking a spare pan and fiberglassing it to do what you need it to.

Hey thanks for posting this. I think the idea of finding another set and taking the foam off is a good idea, then fiberglass the top, and paint to match tank maybe.
Thanks for your post, I'll post any progress with pictures here when i try it out.
