Does anyone know if the xs fork tubes will work with the xj legs? I'm using an 82 maxim 650 front end on my bike(35mm)and need to raise the front(do to added rake)3 to 4"and want to use the 6+tubes from mikesxs.i'm not worried about the air adjustable but want to stick with my front wheel and caliper.

The 650 Maxim has 36mm fork tubes and not 35 like the XS650 so they won't swap.

i must have come across some wrong info in my search.my forks on the bike now are 35mm(maxim style).the bike was a 82 maxim 400 before being choped which i thought used the 34mm tubes.so i figured front end was swapped out at one time.my concern was if damper rod and bushing was the same on the xs tubes were the same to allow the xj legs to bolt right up.

The XS400 Maxim used a 35mm fork so you probably still have the original front end. I have no idea if the damper rod and bushing will interchange. Have you thought about just swapping to XS650 forks?

Hey anthnydm, How about a picture of your bike which the front end rake? I have had a question in my mind for some time just what a rake on the front end would look like if done right on my 81'XJ 750 Seca R. grunt007, Mi.
