    Hey,
Just got the gaskets for the FJ600's BS32s and I was wondering if I should put gasket sealer on the bowl side or let it seal itself. Can't find it in my Clymer.

    Thanks

You should OIL the Gasket and both Gasket Surfaces.

The Idea is to have the Gasket be able to Seat itself well.
And, ... NOT ruin a Gasket when you have to revisit the Fuel Bowl a Cleaning or an Adjustment.

I use a Artists Brush and Marvel Mystery Oil.
    I Paint the Carb Base.
    Paint the Bowl Surface.
Coat both sides of the Gasket and tighten it up slowly.

    IF you use Sealant.
Seal the Gasket to the Bowl.
Oil the Bowl to Carb Base side.

I'll just oil both sides. I should have never scraped the seals off. I left them alone when I rebuilt the XJ550's carbs and they are fine. You have a knack with our carbs and I'll take your advice gladly.

    Thanks
