New Seca '92 Project

Hi

I have purchased a rather sad 1992 Seca with unknown history. My plan* it to pull the bike apart and do the following;

- Powercoat Frame
- Paint Tank
- Converted to "Naked"
- Replace all bearing
- Replace brake lines
- Do a "major service"
- Work out a cheap plan for a muffler
- Work out what to do with a badly oxidized motor

What are the key things I should do and are there any simple upgrades that I should do as I go along, eg progressive shocks.

The aim is to keep this cheap and cheerful.

With you saying "major service" you are meaning:adjust/check valves, clean/rebuild carbs, rebuild brakes including the MC, Calipers and new shoes/pads just to name a few but I assure you others will chime in on what else needs to be done.

 

Yes, was also going to check cam chains etc

 

Also, don't forget to check your tires.
