Got the bike on the freeway today for the first time, and apparently the right side panel wasn't on good.. It blew off on my way home, so I'm looking for a replacement.

Factory grey would be preferable, so I don't have to color match to 25 year old paint, but beggars can't be choosers =>

Let me know what you have and what you want out of it.

Start searching the freeway where you lost it. That thing is made of un-obtainium.

You may get lucky with one of these guys or ebay, but in the mean time, try to find yours and hope it's not flat.

It came off somewhere on a 20 mile stretch of two different tollways in north Dallas. Odds of me finding it, are pretty slender =<

I lost mine a couple years ago (right side panel that goes over the battery) from my '82 Seca 750 and never did find it. I ended up making one out of plexigla and painting it to match the bike (good enough so nobody noticed it wasn't original) I heated it in an oven to make the bends and it fit perfect.
Now I took both sides off and made a pair out of aluminum and they look just as good as the original ones did. I screwed them on so I'll never lose them either.
I tried to find one on Ebay, but they were rare and the ones I did bid on, went for a small fortune, so I gave up. Good luck finding one!

you can get these pretty easy dude i ran across like 3 of them seraching the other night google xj750 seac i beleive theres a bike junkyard in conn and one in canada if i remember corectly each of them has these for both sides they were red tho but if you want one you better grab any color matching paint for your bike not a big deal with computers doing it now just wont have the aged look.after its painted kick it around the parking lot a couple times that should age it a little bit for you ilmao.

    good luck cya james

Or you could always relocate your elecricals, remove your airbox, add some pods... and end up with this:

Yup, you'd go from trying to just find a side cover, to chroming your frame!

    OK, without chrome then...

Still, obviously theres more to doing this then removing your side covers (duh). But it's far from impossible.

I just thought it was cool... and relevant.
