So im moving out to AZ next month, Going to move out there to get off the east coast. its going to be the longest that i have ever ridden. Its good too, cause i have no time frame to be out there so i think that im going to take as many back roads as can. i look forward to seeing some of you guys on the road.

Sounds like a fun trip. I'd take a tent and make it a few weeks' adventure if I had the time for something like that. I'm a long way from Arizona, but I'll be playing a show in Phoenix in early May.

Feel free to stop if you come down I-20! I'll put you up for the night and grill some burgers out on the patio too!

Here's something kinda cool I found on ebay the other day that kinda relates -- I've been thinking of buying one:

    Ebay- Bike Tent

Better than leaving the bike out by itself :D

If you make it Colorado springs. Look me up. We can grill up some elk steaks and change the oil in the beast. Maybe suck down some suds and put you up for the night. All ways up for a good time.

It just depends on how much of a chore it is to for you change jetting on the road. For just the short trip, it's not worth it. You can turn the idle screws in as a crutch, but it'll only help a little bit. You'll be gawking at the scenery so much you won't mind it. :D

You've picked a great time of year to go, before the heat really ramps up.

You should run a little rich out here and in the mountains. May be a bit sluggish too. but no longer than you will be here I wouldn't worry about it too much. In the words of ric-o-matic. Rich is good. lean is bad

Tempe? My brother (a fellow XJ/Yamaha fan) just moved out to Yuma this past week. Might be an excuse for me to toodle out to AZ. It would be great to meet up with a few of you folks. HvBnd, I'll bet your not too far off the beaten path.

Welcome to Arizona when you get here. Definately want to arrive before the heat gets here. It's more like our Winter time, where we don't do a lot outside.
I find bike tripping on an older bike or anything you don't want to sit on all day if it's not supremely comfy, is limit your days to around 300 miles. I alternate camping 1 night to a motel the next, that way you can get a shower but keep the travel costs down.

I love Congress, Skull Valley, Prescott area. Miss it when a chill sets in. Great memories of the place, never had a bike out there though.
