Since there have been no takers on these two engines, I am going to part them out.

I am going to harvest the shims for myself, but any other parts are up for grabs. PM me with what you need.

Don't take them too far apart. Keep the cams and caps with the heads, etc; main bearings/crank/crankcase need to stay together.

What "style" are the valve covers? Both black with the letters machined, or is one of them a "nekkid" cover?

I didn't see your listing for the whole motors, any idea of mileage on either?

Will they bolt into an 82 Seca? How much were you wanting for a whole motor? That is if its still in one peice

My understanding is that the 550 engines are different from the maxim to the seca.

I believe they're different, too.........could be wrong on that, but don't think so.

The 550 Maxim motor will fit the 550 Seca. The difference is in the cams. All hookups are the same. The carbs are also the same with different jetting.

There are subtle gearbox differences; one or two slightly different gear ratios (IIRC) as well.

Otherwise, except for the differences mentioned above, the motors are mechanically the same.
