Perhaps this has been covered and I just missed it but I am currently converting my 550 maxim to a bobber but also want the turn signals to double as running lights. I have already put 1157 sockets into my signal assembly but I was wondering if I am going to have to up the size of my battery and if so how big of a battery will my stator recharge.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Keep the OEM size battery. The battery size is determined by the amperage needed by the starting motor and not the running load of lights and accessories on the bike. Changing the signal light to combination running/turn light is a common upgrade and will not require a larger battery.

Next question. Will xs650/tx750 lenses fit our bikes?

If you go to the kind of bulb that will allow for running light and turnsignal, you will also need to run a positive lead for the socket since the always-on filament is separate from the blinker-only filament. those sockets are three wire, not two.

Next, the xs650 lenses will fit the housings, but they look goofy to me with that domed center. Don't know if the tx750 is the same thing or not.

I have actually bought the 1157 sockets and soldered a ground wire to them. I am trying to eliminate the "fish finder" looking brake light and just use my two rear turn signals for stop, turn, tail lights.
