Just another update on the 3D project, this week I began work on the transmission, the parts in this test render are not in the correct locations but this will give you the idea.

As usual I would appreciate any comments and suggestions.

I managed to make some progress on the gearbox modeling. The middle gear anti-shock drive is now complete along with the shift forks and selector drum.

Will be modeling the starting sprag clutch next, the parts look relatively simple so it should go smoothly.

Motor internals are approximately 80% complete; the biggest challenge in the near future will be the engine castings. Castings are my nemesis because of the difficulty accurately measuring the details as some of the shapes look almost hand carved.

This is the latest test rendering, if you see any errors feel free to let me know, your input is always welcome and truly appreciated.

    Thanks FlyGp

Wow -- would love to have this large enough for a background image with a stylized Design by FlyGP logo in the corner! Amazing stuff!

I had a productive weekend working on the starter clutch model. The clutch is quite the clever device.

Now that this has undergone the modeling process I can see why using oil with friction modifiers would cause this device to slip.

Amazing, these renderings are absolutely incredible, as are all the previous ones.
I can't wait to be able to see it all together on one disc.

    Awesome job,

    Massimo

Did Yamaha really use all those "Pastel" colours when they built this stuff?
