will a 650 Maxim drum brake shoe set work for (in) a 750 maxim drum brake assembly? i've done a little research and only came up with specs on thickness.. closest info I could determine was from chacal's catalog where he sells them seperately but I'm wondering what the difference could possibly be?

anyone done this type of research? thanks in advance

page 184 of Haynes manual has XJ650 G, H, LH, J & XJ750 J rear type drum under a single column. so therefore by my judgement I would say they would be compatable.

however, I always thought 650 was the breaking point & engines bigger would have different specifications for parts compatability. anyone able to help me out here?

80-83 XJ650 Maxim and Xj750 Maxim rear rims are the same, so the brake cover is the same. The 84+ xj750RL, viragos, xj700 air/X, 900rks, etc.... had a larger brake drum.

    Shims

    Hey Dave,

I need a 255, and a 270 shim for the next time I adjust my valves. I think you have a shim pool. All mine are in spec right now but I want to have them for the next time per Fitz's suggestion. Would you be interested in seling me those two shims? If so, how much? I do not have any to trade right now that is why I was asking about selling them to me. Let me know. Thanks Larry
