Anyone please help! I am new to the whole world of biker-ing. Just bought a 1985 Yamaha Maxim XJ700XN-R. Has no windshield or sissy bar/ back rest. I have looked at just about every web site in creation I think and can not find any place to buy a decent sissy bar or windshield. Have returned to windshields already due to non-fit on my handle bars. PLease advise as I am really getting into riding this bike and am getting seriously frustrated.
Please email me at misspebbles71@yahoo.com with any suggestions. Thanks all!!

Get yourself one of these: SlipStreamer SS-24V Hellfire Sport Fairing

If you do a little Web Browsing ... you'll find one for $80.00
    Worth every penny!
No bugs, sand in the face, no noise, ~~> SOLID <~~ mount and really good looking; too!

Welcome and hello, Misspebbles! Rick has your ticket, I think you would be very happy with it. As for the sissy bar, well, you might need to get cosy with some nice fella who works metal for a living. I don't think I've seen anything stock. Anybody?

Hi Misspebbles and welcome. You can still find a nice selection of windshields at JCWhitney.com. I got one for my bike and they are resonably priced.

As for rear racks and backrests, boy you know I've really considered making these items and see if there's a market to start selling them as there are so many old bikes out there still in different brands, and you can't buy the rear racks and backrests anymore.

Problem is getting or finding owners with different bikes to take measurements for fitment on. Although I have a few univeral designs on mind. Here in Phoenix I have the nice-sitee of one of the largest bike salvage places in the Country.
