I just wanted to ask if one of you could check my selections for new valve shims based on the measured clearance values and existing shim sizes?

    Exhaust: (.16mm ~ .20mm)

Cylinder Old Shim Measured Clearance New Shim Value
    1 270 0.15 mm 265
    2 270 0.15 mm 265
    3 275 0.10 mm 265
    4 275 0.13 mm 270

    Intake: (.11mm ~ .15mm)

Cylinder Old Shim Measured Clearance New Shim Value
    1 280 0.10 mm 275
    2 280 0.09 mm 275
    3 275 0.10 mm 270
    4 280 0.10 mm 275

Can I use my existing shims for some of the new shim positions?

swaping shims round to get you in spec if fine....they have shim pools on this site....also as a note my yamaha dealer traded out shims for me a few weeks back......i dont really feel a need to buy new shims if the things dont wear out.... i know some will only buy new and thats cool...i would save the money for new front brake line on my 82 xj550 maxim.....

Thanks for the feedback. I'll get a hold of Len and see what he has available for shims. :D
