Evidently not as new as I thought

I just stumbled onto this forum...for the second time evidently. Not sure why I don't remember being here before as I've been looking for a forum for the xj ever since I started frequenting fullsizebronco.com for my truck.

Anyhow, I have a 1982 XJ550 Maxim with a whopping 13k miles on it. Ive had it for about 2 years now and have almost finished repairing the few things that were a bit wonky. I replaced the fork seals, rebuilt the carbs (getting them synced next week). Then all I need to do is change the valve cover gasket and try to stop the classic tach cable oil leak. I also cleaned up a few spots of rust on the tank and painted (temporarily to keep it from rusting) and my side covers black along with repairing a couple cracks in the side covers and emblems.

Here's a couple pictures I've taken on rides... These were before all the work I did this winter. I also changed the handlebars to not have such high rise since I ride it around town a lot. I'll take some new ones probably next week when it is on the road again.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures. The one of the front of my bike is probably one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. It's along the Snake River between Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID. I live in Pullman and take that ride all the time. You go out into the country, down a curvy canyon road, along the river (where the pictures are), then up an old highway (Called Spiral Rd.) that is awesome, then a relaxing ride home on main roads. Total round trip to get out and back home is about an hour depending on how much you speed...

Here Spiral is on google maps... Spiral Highway on Google Maps Click the satellite view too, it looks like it has better resolution than the picture below.

Here is a bird's eye view of Spiral. Satellite/Plane View of Spiral

Sweet bike and beautiful pics. Looks to be pretty much traffic free too.
