APPROXIMATE parts buget for carb rebuilding?

    I know it depends on what each body/set needs, but what's a fair amount to set aside (not firm)?

    I just want an idea so I don't have total sticker shock after i tear into a set. (I have 3 spare sets to canablize).

    Fyi I'm thinking xj4ever price ranges.

    I spent around $100 and only needed to replace drain screws, throttle shaft seals, fuel rail o-rings, float bowl gaskets, and all the screws.

    I got everything but the screws from Len.

    If you need float needles, seats, and jets you could easily double that.

    Pull up any of the Yamaha parts suppliers, go to their oem fiche for the carbs you're working on and price them.

    I didn't say dealer, I'm talking about outfits like k & n, stadium yamaha, ron ayers....even zanotti if they're still around.

    I just recently ran threw len's list for my xj750seca carb rebuild adventure. Im jetting everything needed (basic seals gaskets ect.) for about $130. now that is also getting new bowl drain screws, and up sizing the jets X2 step for my K&N filter. Trust me when i say don't skip any steps in the rebuilt process. or you'll be doing it again..
