82 Maxim 650 running rough

    Hi.My 82 Maxim 650 sat for about 2 years.It will fire up on the choke but will not idle,also when it is running it has a major hesitation and pipe from th the number foue number four cylinder is barely getting warm.I'm thinking it is a timing problem but looking for suggestions

    Dirty carbs. The carbs will need to be cleaned and tuned for it to run properly.

    NO, it means servicing them, sync doesn't fix gummed up and Kaz is right:

    You need to break them down and meticulously clean them;

    then wet-set the float levels and do a bench sync.

    Then get your valve clearances in spec;

    return the carbs to the bike, and do your running vacuum sync, with YICS blocked.

    IN ORDER. Sync is last.
