Welding a custom rack...

    Seeing that racks are pretty hard to come by for the '82 XJ650 in specific (among others), I'm considering welding a custom rack.

    Any suggestions on mount points, designs, or any racks out there to look at for reference? Any words of caution?

    Yup. I see the mount system is to just replace the current rear grab bar and use its mounts? How much weight can you put on that rack?

    Also a front rack would be good... What would good mount points be for a front rack? Haven't ever seen an XJ with one.

    You don't mean a front rack as in mounted to the forks do you!!??
