I have a 1982 XJ650J Maxim and just put a new master cylinder and caliper on it, I tried bleeding it but all I get is very little fluid out of the bleeder screw and the front brake still doesn't work. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

    Check your procedure first.
    1. Unscrew bleeder screw.
    2. Squeeze brake level slowly all the way.
    3. Close bleeder screw.
    4. Release brake lever slowly.
If the system is empty you might have to do this quite a bit.
If your system has a splitter. You can bleed that using the same procedure.
Using the banjo bolt as a "bleeder screw". Be sure to wipe up any spillage.

I have one, I just don't use it that often and I always forget about it. That's what I am going to use now.
