I have read another thread before that had a small discussion on the taillight issue. Does anyone know of this problem, and if so how was it resolved?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I could even find it, I saw it a while back. I'll look for it though.

If you replaced it with stock stuff, check the make sure that you don't have a pinched wire. Also look closely at the wires at the connections and make sure that you have all the right colors lined up with the right colors.

An Original Fuse Panel could be partly to blame.
If you haven't upgraded the Fuse Panel; start there.

You have to look at the "Guts" of the Light Bulb Socket, too.
Corrosion beneath the Spring-loaded Bulb Base Platform may need to be cleaned-up ... or, ... the Socket replaced (requiring fabrication).

Believe me, whoever had this bike before butchered the entire bike so it's going to be a long process to get it back in workin condition. I replaced the tailight with an aftermarket from amazon. 3 wire (tail, brake, ground) and I wired directly to the stock wiring harness for the stock taillight. The brake switch on the rear needs replaced as the brake light will not turn on when I hit the brake pedal, however I know it is wired correctly. A guy on another thread posted that he had issuse as well but I'm wondering if we have a similar problem (grounded wire or something of that nature) because it should have no problem functioning. The other guy mentioned that he replaced the "guts" of his new taillight with the stock "guts" and it worked fine.

I would bet the 'guts' are the problem. Your original tail light drew a certain amount of power, and it sounds like the new one is drawing MORE power (and therefore more current, causing those blown fuses). I'm sure someone will come along and give more detailed information, but find out what the wattage of the bulbs in your new tail light are and see if they are higher than the stock ones. If so, there is your problem and it is a simple fix: change out the bulbs.

What is the bike? (So we can check the wiring diagram) also WHEN does the fuse blow (Which one) - when you pull the brakes, switch the lights on etc or maybe as soon as you turn the ignition switch?.

I am having a very similar problem to this. However, it doesn't blow immediately. I take my seat off, change the fuse, press the brake pedal a few times and it doesn't blow. Then I put the seat back on, and it blows.

Notes: The fuse its blowing is the 10A fuse that also runs the neutral light, blinkers, and horn. I replaced my taillight with an aftermarket recently. I just tried taking the bulb out of the stock light and putting it into my aftermarket light to no avail. The only thought that comes to my mind is: the aftermarket light company did a bad job soldering the yellow wire to the base of the bulb, and it came off today. I tried soldering it on myself, but i'm terrible with a soldering iron and couldn't get it to stay, so I wrapped the wire around the spring it was grounded to. Could that be the reason i'm blowing fuses?

I love how all this discussion can take place when nobody has ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to go on.

    What bike?

    Replaced it with WHAT?

Some more history of the bike?

I can't work off absolutely nothing without just making stuff up.

    You wired something wrong.

Get out your manual and diagnose.

I've looked at the manual and I'm sure of which wire is what on the bike, however the taillight did not come with a diagram telling me which wire is what. Its only 3 wires, and this is the only combination that produces a brake light when I press the pedal (at least until the fuse blows)

Sounds like your creating a short when you put the seat on. Check the routing of the wires and make sure they aren't being pinched or a connection touching the frame. Have the wire soldered, the current connection isn't a good one and can lead to more problems.
My son in law had a problem with his brake light staying on. Brake light wire was touching the mounting bracket of the light which had cut through the insulation creating a short. You have to look from front to back and everything in between. Look at the hand brake and follow it to the head light bucket, check the rear brake switch and wires all the way back to the bulb.
