First timer here, but I am working on a rat/cafe 81 xj550rh that i have run into a couple problems with, most are fixable but finding the parts can be hard. The threaded nut end of the Rear engine mount bolt (that goes all the way through the motor right near the pegs) is sheared off.

The yamaha OEM part is 901051217100 bolt washer based but is discontinued and I cannot find anywhere to order it or a replacement.

I was wondering if anyone had the same issue and knew where to get a replacement or if anyone knows the specs on the bolt (just length and diameter since I no longer have the nut to use anyways) for a alternative.

I figure riding it without have the nut attached is a disaster waiting to happen, and would appreciate any input.

    Thanks!

Go to a hardwaer store and but a piece of threaded rod about the same size, some nuts and washers. Install it and forget it.

The same bolt/nut broke on my 550. I just went to the local Yamaha dealer and they got it for me. It was almost 30 bucks though lol.

Must be a common weakness. Mine broke too. Initially I thought just the nut fell off so I ordered one from Chacal. Closer inspection revealed the bolt had broken. I bought some thread rod, welded a nut on one end and bolted it in. No problems since.
