Hi there. I do not have the carb holders but was just wondering if you have assessed whether or not yours are repairable. Others on here have used black the rtv silicone and/or bike innertube methods to 'band-aid' their boots. I live in Algonac but I am in St. Clair on my 82 Maxim frequently. Small world!

Wow it is a small world! Maybe ill see you around if i ever get this thing out.

My rubbers are possibly repairible, i took silicone to a few of them but on a couple theres big cracks right next to the head which i dont think is to good.

Has anyone ever boken the intake boot bolts? I broke 2 of them and they are sticking out maybe 1 or 2 threads, it going to be a pain in the a** getting them out. I figured i need new hardware, new gaskets , my rubbers are sorta on the last leg so i might as well replace it all than have to change them
    Down the road

Except im a broke kid and i cant find the things anywear for under 250$, for little boots

I haven't had mine off, but from what I've read on here, isn't there a steel sleeve and steel mounting flange underneath the entire rubber boot (except for a little bit of the end where the carb mounts on)? If so, then sealing the cracks should suffice and you can test for air leaks while running with propane or starting fluid. Spray Kroil on the broken studs several days in a row, it will penetrate into the threads and may make extraction MUCH easier! (I have 2 cans, I could loan you one for a few days.)

Then you're on the right track already. Kroil and PB are similar type of products.

    The way I compare them:

Kroil is to PBBlaster, what PBBlaster is to WD40.

However, I like them both.......and still have use for wd40, though, too.
