hello, need to ask for some wiring help. i have a 81 xj750 that im in the process of bobbing. i minimised the wiring using a trusted schematic, only thing left to the wiring is head light, tail light, license plate light, blinkers, and starting system. my problem is no spark, it cranks fine. i have power coming out of the pick ups, i have power going into and out of the tci. i have power going to both coils, correct resistance on the coils, but no spark coming out. i should also state this was a running bike before i started tearing into it. all my testing was done with a fluke meter and it all lines up with what its suppose to. any help would be greatly appreaciated!!

If there is a black/white wire going to the TCI unit 6pin plug, try disconnecting it and see if you get spark.

Well if it has power on the red/white and ground on the black, signals from the reluctors are present and it wont pulse the coil negs to ground it must be foobar.

    Power to the coils
neg side of coils to TCI
    Power and ground to TCI
    Black white safety not grounded
    Pulse from pick ups.

    Thats it to run it.

I have power with the key on to all wires going to the coils, I have power to the ignighter , black and white wire not grounded, I get power from the pickups. The only thing I cant say for sure without checking is if the coils and tci are on the same ground. I do know they are both grounded, just not sure if there grounded together.
If they are would that mean a bad ignighter?

Sounds that way. Got anyone close with an XJ you can plug it into?

Unfortunetly no, im the only one I know with one. If I remember right 650 and 750 ignighters interchange right? Just the extra center stand terminal on the 750 one right?
