I have a 1985 xj. I have fuel pouring out of the carburetor overflow on the right side carbs. At first it was the left side, so I took it apart and cleaned everything. It still runs but fuel is coming out. What can I do about this?

That's the valve directly below the floats, correct? If so I didn't know how to pull those so I just hit them with some cleaner. I took out the screw and the little bracket that held it in place, but they didn't come out. And I didn't want to make things worse because I was unsure of how they were removed.

Not sure if that was the right thing to do. From my understanding, carb cleaner should not be used on any non-metal (rubber) parts as the cleaner chemicals will absorb into the rubber and F**K it up.
You may have messed up the rubber tips.
Anyone want to chip in if I got this wrong?
