Hello all, Just finished a brake system rebuild and cleaning and was dreading the brake bleed. Untill I read about a vaccuum thread, so i tried my hand pump and worked like a charm. Opened the bleeder screw a turn and a half, had my helper holder the correct size tip to the screw. The brake lever was held with tape. M/C cover off and filled. Set the pump to deflate and slowly pumped away until the first sign of fluid, (filled m/c resevoir as needed) could actually see the fluid level fall. Then proceeded to bleed with the brake lever (with helper) turning bleeder screw in-out as you would do a regular bleed. In the matter of minutes handle hard as a rock, and just repeated the process for the second caliper. Just wanted to share my great sucess and hope it helps anyone,,, the pump was a wal-mart inflatables for about 29$ I know not everyone will have this pump but i had it laying around anyway,,,,,XJBIKES ROCKS

Or you can use a Mity-Vac; it does the same thing.

Just thought the thread might have helped anyone who has struggled with their brake bleed. (When finger and thumb) was not working very well. And was suggesting ANOTHER method that has worked.
