Hi, I am in the process of cleaning up my bike before summer hits. Not sure if there is a way I can clean some rust from the galvanized parts such as brake pedal, linkage, bolts, nuts etc. without killing the rest of the plating. Any help is appreciated.

mmmmm you seem to have a mixture of chrome plated and galvanised parts there. Rust on a galvanised part means the galvanising has gone so whatever you use you will soon be back to square one unless you coat it again. You could try oxalic acid (only applied for a short time) I'd think that was the most gentle of the removers?

Yeah there isn't alot you can do beside getting it dipped again. I just removed my petals and sand blasted them and got the dipped it's not that expensive.
