MAC is cheapest pipe many people Opt for, but it is also really a lousy cheap pipe, the black on the headers rusts over very easily and the entire system is not very high quality. Jardine's are a little more but a much better pipe, but you may be limited by which will make a pipe for your bike.

As I've said before get or download the free DennisKirk catelog for a thick catelog that has lot's of pictures of all this kind of stuff. Don't necessarily buy from DK myself much because they are expensive, but you find what you like and order from the best priced sources you can find.

    Good Luck

You will get a nice low rumble with just the Jardine mufflers slipped right onto the collector. I have a pair of Jardine mufflers (from an 1100 Honda Shadow) that clamp right up to the stock collector and sound real good. I also have a pair of shorty Emgo mufflers on right now and they sound about the same as the Jardines. Just about any after market muffler that has 1-1/2" opening will work. Harley mufflers even work (I want to try a set on mine) and there are hundreds of them on Ebay for cheap.

This is also a topic that interest me..Being a noob and not knowing much about back pressure and rejetting.I was wondering if you get the lo rumble sound effect with out rejetting for back pressure? Meaning I need to know what pipe works without rejetting?

You can basically put any aftermarket pipe on, leaving everything else stock you won't have to rejet or adjust anything, it will run fine.

To get the most out of it performance wise, going through a good colortune and slight adjustments will make it a little better. Especially if replacing the stock air filter with a better quality one in the stock airbox.

Where you definately have to "FOR SURE" do rejetting and retuning is if you remove the stock airbox and go to seperate air filter pods.

Remember you will have about the best back pressure which will give you very good bottomend roll on power with the stock setup, that's how the manufacturers set them up, plus it's easier to pass emissions and federal regulations for sale of new vehicles. But that setup doesn't give you the most horsepower and top end acceleration.

The changes are the same on every bike I've ever done, like my XJ1100 changed in very clear ways when I went from the stock exhaust to my Kerker 4into1 and seperate filter pods. Firstly I noticed 5th gear roll on immediate power going down the freeway wasn't as strong when I went to the performance items at those cruising rpms, say 4000 - 5000 rpm.

With the performance items, it was weaker at those rpms, but the bike really wakes up far more now around 6000 to redline, and pulls a ton harder then before, and it's much faster now.

But if I were to race side by side my old stock setup in 5th gear from 30mph by rolling on, the stock setup would definately pull away big time for quite awhile until the performance setup got to it's power area in rpm.
In other words, now I'd have to grab a gear to get the rpm's up enough to pull along with it.

You have to decide how you really want your bike, if you are looking for more top end power and your bike see's higher rpm quite a bit and you want more up there, they are nice changes.
But if your a casual rider and not often wringing your bike, and you want the best pulling power at low rpm, keep it stock.

Remember your fuel economy will drop some with performance changes to. I used to get 41mpg on my 1100, since the changes, the best I see is 35-38mpg.

    Good Luck
