(my opinion) It's the way they used-up all the TURBO parts after they cancelled that program, and they also had a PILE of 750 motors; some went into "Seca" 650 chassis.

The 750 Police bike had Fuel Injection, and TURBO suspension, brakes, rims. From the video it looks like they ran out of oil coolers. The dash , exhaust, and wire harness would be the only things they had to make from scratch. The airbox-to-throttlebody boots also.

Finned alternator cover = Police motor.

Holy crap. If it wasn't in Britain, I'd be thinking about that one.

That is so weird, but so cool. I would have bet anything at first glance that it was a cobbled-up 650 Turbo but there are enough differences in the bodywork and other things to verify that it was at least a nearly production-ready prototype if not a limited-production unit actually available to the public. Very cool.

Very cool. I like the fact that the lower fairing is one piece instead of three.

It isn't. It's in the west of Ireland, about an hour and a half away from me.

I'm off work tomorrow, I might go and have a look at it if the seller agrees to meet.

 My wife is looking over my shoulder, with that expression on her face. This is gonna be costly.

Yeah, but once she goes for a ride on it with you then she'll start giving you THAT expression, rather than 'that' expression. ;)

Yes, they are anti-dive forks, no it is not a photoshop add-in. The anti-dive forks are correct for that bike.

If any photoshop work was done, it was to clean up around the bike and make is a crystal clear picture. However, this is exactly what the bike looked like when new. That's a nice, niiiiiiiiiiiice picture.

I see where they got rid of the kickstand, and the reflector flash - they dropped some grey in there, but how do people get such a uniform background??

Finned alternator cover = high output alternator

When I was rebuilding my police forks, the part numbers showed they were from a XJ750D.

Yamaha never seemed to design Police bikes, they just grabbed existing parts from other models.

I've seen finned alternator covers on a 600 which doesn't even have an alternator under the cover but had it on the end of the crank

I've only ever seen one of those XJ750 in real life, didn't realise they were a rarity, always thought they were a bit ugly like the turbo

That speedo unit looks like the one that was one the '83 Virago, all digital, could be a bear, but more than likely finding any replacement LCDs that have been faded or cracked could be the real problem.

    Cool? yes.

A parts nightmare to maintain though ...
That seems to be something for a museum rather than for riding.
