    Nope.

    It has a 550cc liquid-cooled V-twin.

The eBay seller was confused about more than the displacement.

They're relatively rare because it wasn't a very good bike; they didn't sell very many of them and they only made them for a couple of years.

It had downdraught CV carbs with a vacuum-operated two-stage airbox setup that was problematic; even though watercooled the rear cylinder had heat issues, and the motor was pretty underpowered to begin with.

    Not one of Yamaha's best.

The Vission still has a loyal following and despite some issues was a good bike. The fully faired version was the most desirable and the one on eBay looks very clean and in great shape for it's age. The downside would be poor parts availability due to the limited production and finding a shop that would even touch it should any service be required.

I just bought an 82 Vision Sunday! Mine is a definate project. Are you sure they are CV carbs? I haven't dove into them yet, but had it running without the airbox on to look at them, have an accelerator pump.

Yeah I have been interested in them for a while, finally got a chance at a 13k mile project that is pretty decent. So I got it. Mild restoration for the wife to learn on!

Nice. ONe spot to be aware of....the stator tends to be a weak point. Often it is because of corroded wire connections, similar to the early Goldwing issue. So, make sure that the wires coming off the stator have really clean connecitons packed with di-electric grease.

I've never heard of the heat issue before this forum.
