Can someone please fill me in on the proper spark plug gap for my 82 xj750 seca? I have read 20 to 28, 24 to 32. I set them on 21 and it seems to do alright just really rough idle. Performed the wet float on my carb after finding the jet off on carb #4. After putting them on I had a leak, took them back off and decided to do a leak test, and while at it I checked the floats, all within specs. Any suggestions on the rough idle?

    .023" -.032" or 0.7 mm -0.8mm page 142 in the Haynes manual.

I always set them on the lower side as the gap opens up with wear.

Rough idle not usually caused from spark plugs, but possible. Most often a cause of improper sync.

how do I sync them, I just cleaned them and set the floats. I did not break them apart though. I am thinking the first time I cleaned them (about8 months ago) I believe I turned the air/fuel mixture screws in and backed them back out 2 1/2 turns. Could be mistaken but I think I did.
