81 XJ650(G) Tach Question

    Id like to wire in an electronic tach on my xj this weekend..... what is the correct wire to tie into?

    Depends on the tach you use. easiest style is one that has the tach wire wrapping around the plug wire

    If you're looking to keep the stock look, then get a tach from an 82 or 83 XJ650 Maxim, or the XJ750 with the same style gauges. They both have the electronic tach.

    I'll try to get a chance tomorrow night to look at the wire colors on the harness of the tach and tell you what colors/type of clip to look for in the headlight bucket.
