Seeking options for repositioning SECA 900 handlebars

    Searched the forums but didn't find much.

    Have a 1983 SECA 900 and would like to raise the bars around 1" and move them back 1-2" to improve riding position.

    Anyone know of any options and if cables and fittings will work without modification?

    I have a stock 900.
    The Handlebar Positioning Options stink.
    There's only one position out of all the arrangements possible that appeal to me.

    The many available positions the bars can be adjusted to are:
    a) Bad
    b) Worse
    c) Completely ridiculous.

    I once toyed with the idea of stacking a Hard Rubber Bushing / External Star Locking Washer / Nylon Washer / External Star Locking Washer / Hard Rubber Bushing / between the Stock Adjusters ... for the few degrees of adjustment the Stock Locking pieces wont permit.

    Are you sure these will fit a SECA 900?

    I can't see where or how how I'd get these to fit when inspecting my stock setup.

    Yes, you're probably right. These only work for standard handlebars. From what I see on the Seca, its a different setup.

    I bought Maxim multi adjustable handle bars & mounts from the US & fitted them to my 900.

    They have a multi spline mount that bolts to the top of the triple clamp, & they have a multi spline fitting as the grip end of the riser part.

    Some simple playing around with the stock setup with some added pieces should give you what you are looking for.

    1. You can stack a couple of handle bar boss 1 (parts #9 & 10) with a longer bolt to raise the bar up.

    2. Swap the bars from left to right placing the handle bar boss 2 (part #11) on the rear of the bar to move the bar back. These could also be stacked with a longer bolt to move the bar back further.

    Sounds like this would work. I'll check things out myself but this will be the first time I've worked on a bike in this way, all my previous years of experience having been with cars.

    I'm mechanically and electrically savvy, have a home shop with air, etc, so no worries on doing the work.

    However, before I start, any 'good to knows' or 'gotchas' I should be aware of when swapping the grips between the bars?
    Thinking of things like will cables be too short with bars straight ahead or turned, will steering feel be adversely affected, etc, etc.

    Any thoughts welcome.
