That's a shame. That also means it broke. There's a couple small bolts that hold them on. Unless is 'fell off' while you were eating somewhere......

Either way......good luck in your search, and be prepared to open your wallet pretty wide.

Broke off at the top screw. I think I might have done it squeezing my knees in when I was bored and stuck in traffic not thinking about what was there  . I parked it at the swap meet that day but I think it must have fallen off on the road before I got there.

That's too bad. I would suggest you take another ride or drive along the routes you took and keep an eye out on the side of the road for it. It's worth a shot........if you find it you save a lot of money, if you don't find it, well.........at least you tried.

This is one of the parts that we refer to as "unobtainium".

I rode the route again but it's around 10 km of city blocks and 15 km of highway so it's a long shot. I guess I'll need to keep mining for unobtanium. I actually tried to convince this seller on Vancouver Craigslist to part with his but he doesn't want to part out and I can't say I blame him. Considered buying his bike for the spares etc..but haven't got the space. Here it is in case anyone is interested.

Sadly have to conclude this was very possibly taken off my bike while parked at the swap meet. At first I didn't think any one would break it off when they could easily unscrew it but then I realized the left one also is cracked at the tab for the screw. Easy enough to wiggle it free but unlikely to have fallen off on my ride. Either way it's a lesson learned I guess but still choked as it took considerable time and expense to make the bike stock again.
