+1 There's going to be a cascade of failures finally ending in those ICs.

I spent the better part of a decade repairing electronics equipment and omalley is spot on. The time any money to repair it will be more than the cost of 2 working used ones at $100 each. Tools alone are going to be prohibitively expensive if this is your only need for them.

Give it a shot if you want, but having repaired similar circuits for years I can tell you that it will be a frustrating, probably fruitless experience.

Here's the datasheet I found and described the parts in:

third option, a 650 tci works on a 750 and vise versa, not quite right but they work, maybe one of those could work till you find the right one.
at least it would get you riding.

I have one for an Airhead that will supposedly work to some extent. I am told the advance will be off (I don't know what the "advance" is of course). Having replaced the original wire harness, I may end up having to go that route. Previous harness had been hacked up and probably the cause of the problems.

Not to hijack your thread, but does anyone here have the knowledge to build a new SCI?TCI

    Gudday,

    Feel like taking a risk?

Send it to me in Australia, and I will fix it for you. Free of charge.

Yes it is a darlington transistor, and I have 1 working one of those left. Personally I would replace both darlingtons with VB291z ignition drivers that are overspec for the application, and have thermal cutout and short circuit protection.

That transistor has blown due to a reason, which may be due to another fault in the unit, or a short in the ignition coil or wiring that is connected to that transistor. If the cause is not in the unit, but on the bike buying another unit may end in the replacement unit getting a blown transistor as well.

I can bench test these style of units, and have a lot of experience in ECU and ignition unit repairs.

As for what your unit looks like, don't expect any second hand units to look any better.

If you can find someone who can clean and resolder that unit, I can outline some tests to do on the bike to try and find a cause, and post you a tested D1113 that came out of an old XJ unit.
