Hey guys, I just got myself a screen printing setup and I am gonna start making T-shirts. This is strictly low volume and I am just getting started, and I have been messing around with a few designs. I would like your input to figure out if I am headed in the right direction and producing something that riders would be interested in. Here's 4 of my initial designs. tell me which ones you like /don't like. I'm looking at the layout/fonts more that the colors at this point. Please be honest in your critique, but tell me why you like/hate something....don't just say "They all suck..." lol Fronts and backs are interchangable as well...

Thanks for your input guys :D

Looks good to me. I would like to see one for an XJ 650 as well.

    my input....
Design #1 - watch out for the photoshop 'poster edges' effect. I'd take that design into Illustrator and do a nice tracing of lights and darks. It would allow for more stylization of the bike.

The logo immediately reminded me of Orange County Choppers...not sure if that's good or bad?

You should do a shirt with Green Horse Customs on the front and the definition of 'Cycle' Therapy on the back.

Your work looks pretty good, I take it that Green Horse Customs is one of your contracts.
What kind of pricing do you have and how do you arrive at the price?
For example: 1 shirt with a bike with the name of the bike on it, no colours, just black and white.
One guy came on here a while back and talked about enameled pins but that thread seemed to just die off.
Would you look at suggestions for an XJ Forever design with the site owners permission of course and price them according to volume of shirts requested and pre-paid?
    Just a quick paint job.

I am GHC and all the bikes you see on the T's are ones I have built/modded
As far as pricing goes there is usually a 1 time fee to create the screen (anywhere from $30-$50) if you have image ready art work, more if the artwork has to be created /cleaned up. I have not yet gotten an LLC or tax id # so I cannot buy wholesale, so my cost for a quality T, Sm-1XL is about $5-7 depending on volume. (the costs for 2X on up get crazy!)
I hadn't really thought of printing T's for other people so I hadn't really put much thought into pricing, but I guess it would be an option if there was enough interest...

Yeah Rick.. I googled cycletherapy many moons ago :D But since my font doesn't look like theirs, and I am using a hyphenated 'cycle-therapy' ( not 'Cycle Therapy' like they have) I don't see any likelihood of someone mistaking my tag line for their business name, which I believe is the basis of trademark infringement...although I'm no lawyer... :D and weirder stuff has gotten through our retarded court system...

As far as using Yamaha specific (YICS) or XJbike specific terms/phrases/artwork, I feel that I would have to get permission to use that stuff from the owner/company. Mow if you're looking for a shirt of your pecific bike, then Zazzle is a good place to design your own t-shirt..but they get kind of pricey at $25-30 per T-shirt...

Go ahead and use it, I have no rights to it, I just made it up when I posted it.
If you do get it etched in glass I'd like to see a picture though.

    Cheers, Graham
