Not for sale yet as it is on my bike, but I am planning on taking off my oil cooler and adapter. My focus (simplicity) and riding style don't justify having it on.
I will post pictures later. Will come with the adapter, the longer oil bypass bolt, lines, and oil cooler. The only bad thing is the O-ring for the oil cooler adapter is bad and it drips. You would have to find a replacement or RTV it. Also you have to dent the pipes a little to make it fit with a 4 to 1 exhaust.

I would consider trading this for a tourpack fairing/bags in good condition, also be willing to drive a couple hours to meet somewhere to exchange to avoid shipping.

I see that it's been a while since this thread started, but do you still have the oil cooler? and if so is it still on your bike? And if it is could you post some pictures of where the lines attach to the engine?

I've got a plug on both sides of my bike and they're both a little leaky. I'm hoping that they're where the oil lines attach because I would seriously consider putting on an oil cooler for the hot Phoenix summers.

The two flexible pipes on my motorcycle started leaking(well it was just one but I have had both replaced).

I highly doubt it. The oil cooler was attached via an "adapter" plate between the oil filter and the motor. I can post a pic if you like, but it's just a plate behind the oil filter.

You need to start a thread in "XJ Chat" in regard to your leaky plugs; I really don't think they're blocked-off oil cooler junctions. The only USA-market XJs that came with oil coolers were the 900, and 650 Turbo. If they're what I think you're talking about, get a thread going before you do something bad.

Sorry I did not see the replies for this thread.
Here the pictures, Fitz is correct, the cooler attaches to the adapter plate.
Full disclosure, it took some black rtv around the adapter to keep it from leaking, and the cooler has some of the paint peeling off. It's not a show piece as is. The cooler lines were cracked and old, you will have to make new lines.
I'd like to sell it here, feebay is expensive. I'll entertain all offers sell separately if I have to, I'd like to get at least $50 for the both of them. PM me if you're interested.

My 82 750 Max has a Lockhart on it and I too was debating leaving it off. I know the bike did not come with it factory, but the Canadian model does. The only reason I can see that it might need one is for extreme duty. These engines were already designed for extreme duty, and I do not see reasoning behind Canadian models having them factory considering the cooler climate. Can anyone share some input on this?

Maybe they figured a cruiser type bike would be moving slower, and have two up duty more often. Maybe they just put it on as another gimmick, like our anti dive forks, atari gauges, YICS system...
I think its funny that the PO had this oil cooler on, real K&N pods, and a mac exhaust but couldn't be bothered to jet the bike correctly. Lean and mean!
