xj700 X Wheel swap

    So I want to swap out the stock wheels on my '86 Maxim X with the wheels from either a Midnight Maxim 750 (Gold rim) or an 82 XJ750. Anybody tried it before? I am thinking that if I switch the front wheel over I will need to change the forks and brakes as well however I do not have an extra wheel to test out my theory. As far as I know the rear wheels are the same but the front one is the issue I am having. Any guidance or advice is much appreciated.

    If you read my write up on the 700 virago wire wheel swap you will find all the info you will need to go the opposite direction to put the blender spoke mag wheels onto the X. Same process just reversed. Link in my signature.

    just posted a similiar question myself, I am wanting to change my 18" rear wheel for a 16" wheel. Just don't know what I would be doing to the ride. You did know that the stock wheels, at least on my 82 XJ750 Seca, are 18" rear and 19" front?
