After adding heated grips to my 1981 Seca 750 I thought I would save some wattage and substitute the the incandescent taillights with LED's. Problem is that they're so efficient that they set off the "taillight" warning light on the Atari system. The bike thinks that one or both bulbs are burnt out. It's annoying to have to reset the little button every time I ride and look at the "taillight" LCD display while I'm riding. Does anyone have a solution to fool the system into seeing the more efficient bulbs?

I'd also like to know how to "redo" the atari as well w/o adding "load resistors" to the tail lights *which would negate the electrical savings of the LEDs).

I could also use the same fix for my LED head light :)

Where can i run wires for a 12v LED light strip on my sub/amp?
I am wanting to put lights in my sub box. They will be visible via plex iglass insert. Where can I find a 12v source on my sound system that hits with the bass?

LOL yep, I wish SQLguy would repost those pics up on a different site, they're kinda needed to explain where things are. I May have to do this this winter just for something to do.

Same. I have enough spare atari's to experiment, but the original pictures would have been nice.

Haven't "seen" SQLguy for a while. I sent him a PM about a month ago and he still hasn't picked it up. :-(

Question: What is the atari. I assume a computer of some sort, but does my 82 650 Maxim have it, and where does it live?

It is my understanding that it is the display console with the various indicators and warning lights.

the atari is the big block that houses the speedo, tack, and warning lights on the 750 secas and at least some of the 750 maxims not sure if anything else had them.

82 650 maxim doesn't have one it has the rounded gauge cluster.

Metal_Bob you can for sure use the method I used for the headlight(not to hijack this thread or anything) I'm sure there's a similar way to bypass the "TAIL" warning, but I don't have that one lighting up so I haven't tried.

But for head, and I know you saw this, as you commented:) There are two coils on the bottom left corner of the circuit board that sits behind the LCD display, solder a jumper wire to the pins that hold that copper coil on, taking that coil out of the circuit, that way it doesn't need current to activate the electromagnetic switch that lives in that coil. I know the pics on that thread aren't great, but if you jumper those two coils(easy to spot because they have headlight colored wire going to them: green/red and yellow/green for low and high, respectively)

Here is the LOW beam "HEAD" warning bypass, I've been showing it all over, because I couldn't find a picture of it when I was trying to do my headlight relay mod. That red wire at the bottom right is the jumper. To kill the HEAD warning for both HIGH and LOW you would solder a wire across that coil AND the one next to it, I didn't bother. No doubt one of the other coils that are there but not shown is also the TAIL warning, get a wire with alligator clips at both ends and experiment bypassing those things until the TAIL warning shuts off, is what I'd do.
