I love what you did, man! This mod is an inspiration to me! Do you have any recent pics of how she looks now? This is the model of how I want mine to look (sans a couple of things).

I am loving the design. I am probably going to mimic that setup a little bit.

maxim pic.jpg the oil spot isn't from the bike so no worries there, I figured i'd post an updated pic for everyone with the updated rear fender and fresh frame paint.

Very nice looking bike. I think the rear fender looks a lot better but that's just my preference.

Did you lower the rear suspension?

yes there's only about 2" of travel in the rear, but most of the lowering came from the seat. I went through about 6 sets of shocks before I found ones that worked the way I wanted them to. I ended up finding a shock with the correct valving then found a set of springs with the spring rate for my weight and then had to find adaptors to make the set up fit on the existing shock mounts... it took a hole season to finally get it set up correctly where I could launch the bike at 4-5K rpms and just hold it wide open and bang through the gears. it ends up holding the front tire about 6" off the ground until I shift into 3rd. I snapped the drive shaft before so stopped launching it like that now.

Where did you find that seat and what did you have to do to mount it? I've been searching everywhere to find a custom for my 82 xj650 with no luck. I'm new to the xj's so I appreciate any help you may provide.
