oh for forks sake.......

    Howdi blokes,
    currently trying t pull the front forks off my 81 xj550 seca and the manual isnt being much help.

    I have loosend the pinch bolts at the top of the fork leg but the forks still wont rotate.

    what is the best way to proceed.....

    (sorry if this is a stupid question but this is the first time I have ever pulled apart a bike for renovation)

    what bike are you working on? did you loosen the one at the very top and the two down by the Yamaha emblem on each side?

    -Remove the fender if you haven't already. (The integral fork brace can put a bind on the forks.)

    -Loosen the two pinch bolts at the top.

    -Loosen the two pinch bolts on the lower triple tree (hidden by the trim piece.)

    They'll slide out. It's even easier if you also remove the front wheel.
