1982 SECA 750 RED - Any automobile made in the same colour?

I am looking for some touch-up paint for my bike , which has the original metallic red/burgundy colour.

Anyone knows of a car/truck ever made with this same colour? There are quite a number of off-the-shelf spray paint available for cars/trucks. I thought I could get a close match if I knew of a year/model with the same colour.

I have a 1982 seca 650 that is red, and have found that the red used on the 2005 grand caravan called "Inferno Red Crystal Pearl" is a perfect match. I used the paint from the parts department at my local dealer.

I have not seen a 1982 SECA 650 Red in person. Does anyone know if it is the same RED as the 1982 SECA 750?

 

I don't think so. The red (Canada scheme) Seca 650s were a rather plain red; the Seca 750 was more of a red/burgundy and I believe it was metallic as well.

 

Vince there's a place in Quebec that sells the original paint colors for motorcycles including the Burgundy/red for our bikes. They have it in tins and spray, also clear coat. I'm not at home, I'm in Trenton Ontario at my sons place so I am unable to send the link at this time. I wont be home till Monday night so send me a PM and I'll post it for everyone then, Canadians anyway.

Ground-Hugger: Thank you for the info. I will PM you for that Quebec website. I always thought shipping flammable is troublesome and expensive nowadays. That's why I am trying to source off-the-shelf locally.

Unfortunately, their selection database only starts from 1986.
Did you say you had gotten the same burgundy/red from them before? Would you happen to know the SKU number for it?

Vince give them this color code 007J this is for the Yamaha New Ruby Red color which I got from Yamaha. This supposed to be the only red color it came in. The color Rite SKU is SKU # : 5970.
This should bring it up on the Quebec site. Make sure you confirm with them that it is the color you want!!!! You may have to take a picture of the original color to confirm it will be what you want.
I am trying to confirm with Yamaha Canada that this is the burgundy/red that is on our bikes.

 

Vince email the Quebec give them the 007J and ask them for a sample of the color. Also Yamaha says that because of newer paint chemicals you may not be able to match the color. Also try an auto paint supply to get the color matched. Most large auto parts stores can do it. Or you can take the part to an paint shop and have it scanned and then they can match it.
Also shipping paint is no big deal it just has to go by ground shipping. Air cargo is a no no as change in air pressure can cause spray cans to explode.
