Hi, I'm trying to verify applications and interchange of the Hitachi carbs on the 1986 XJ700S (49-state) model carbs (code 1NH)........these are used on the air-cooled engine bikes.

If anyone has an original set of these (on or off the bike), let me know, I have a few simple questions, thanks!

    Hi there,
That is my bike, except it is the Canadian version of the 700 S. (1NJ) They are in the process of coming off the bike again as I need to do a more complete job on my carbs.
Side topic, I have a bunch of parts to order, just send you the part numbers and quantities in an email?
    Thanks,
    David

Hey David, yes just send us an e-mail or PM (e-mail preferred!) and we'll go from there..........on the carbs, I would like to know a little details about how they appear, do you have any images of them?

Hi Rabbit, I was interested in seeing whether your carbs had the vac ports coming off of the indle mixture screw boss (front center upper of each carb body) with a vac hose attached to them.........

    Len,

I have an 85 that has the vac ports, and an 86 that does NOT have the vac ports. Both bikes are the 700 49 state models. Happy to answer any questions.... PM me and I'll send you my email address.

    thanks,

    jon

Hey Jon, yes, that is what is correct for the 49-state US model Hitachi carbs (the California carbs are similar). Hoping to learn more about what the Canadian models are like..........I owuld think that they used the "49-state" versions carbs, but best to verify and make sure!

I don't have 4 vac hoses or the ports. It looks like there could have been a port there, but it is just a plug from what I can see. These pics aren't great, but I pulled the tank off just enough to give you some shots.
