    Howdy!! I just wanted to stop by n say "hey".I just got two(2) '82 Seca 750's... Sad, but the parts bike i scored is in better condition than the one with the title( LOL, No worries, i can fix that) Anyway, MANY Questions Inc. So, any help would be greatly appreciated.....once i have some questions lol...Would you believe the parts bike came with a YICS tool?? 8O 8O

    nice score on the yics tool - makes one to believe that the po's had some sort of sense for maintenance.


    one can hope at least, lol

    Be sure to get the valves in spec and get it SAFE before risking your life on it, check the tires for age and wear, toss anything over 5 years.

    check the front brake line brake codes, the originals were only meant to last 4 years, and odds are nobody touched them

    check the rear brake pads for delamination, the pads tend to separate from the carrier and jamb in the drum, causing the rear wheel to lock up. clearly dangerous.

    Other than that, stick around and learn a thing or two! anything you could ever possibly need to know is available to find out on this site, so have fun and learn lots!!

This will be my first go at restoring a Yamaha YICS (Yikes 8O !!) lol( yea, i know) i have my little '07 Honda Nighthawk...Dont laugh fellas, with my skinny azz on it it hits 90mph and IF i stay outta the throttle it gets 72mpg( not at 90,lol) and i have my old ''73 CB 750 that is bone stock restored( pics Inc. soon)

    I am soooo, glad i found these forums, and, thanks again!

    BTW, i love saving old bikes from the parts bin, BOTH of these XJ's will get resto...eventually. I luv my old bikes :D :D
