    Hi All;

    I have finally fixed up my wifes 83 550 Maxim - 5,000 miles on the clock! :D

    It'd been neglected in the car port for 6 years as it never ran right.
    Cleaned the carbs etc, still ran poor.
    Found this forum and discovered the PO had set the idle jets at 1 1/2 turns. :roll: With them set to 4 it runs much better. :D

    My wife has pretty small hands and has a real issue the the reach of the clutch leaver. She ends up using her palm not her thumb as the fulcrum.

    I could put a shim/spacer behind the leaver and adjust the cable, but does any one have any other sugestions/tips.

    Thanks.

    CP

    Hi There
    A while ago some companies over here used to sell dogleg levers, it might be worth your while to ask these people if they still do them (sales@mandp.com) but if they do them your side of the pond someone will know

    I had a similar problem years ago with an old Hodaka. Solved it by going to thinner grips.
