OK guys and gals here's the thing. Someone cut my clutch cable 2 weeks ago while I was working. I put the new cable on yesterday and it seemed fine. Then while i was adjusting it I heard a twang that sounded like a spring breaking. Then the clutch did nothing. I took the clutch cover off of the motor but I can't find any broken parts so I have no idea what broke. Does anyone have any idea what the issue may be? Thank you in advance for any input you may have.

Give some more info if you can. Have you already ruled out the new cable breaking? When you pull the lever is it loose or is there normal resistance?

The new cable is fine, however there is no resistance. The spring on the swing arm that the cable attaches to seems fine as well.

Alright I replaced all of the friction plates steel plates and springs inside the clutch and it's working great again.
