82 xj550 bypass start switch

    ok so i bought this 82 xj550 and it runs great, but... the starter switch dont work, i can start it with a screw driver or even a wire on the solenoid but when ipush the button.... nothing, the headlight wont turn on too, if its an easy fix i have no issue doing that, but i would liketo just throw a switch somewhere and call it good, what would the easiest and shortest rout be? mind you im kinda simple minded when it comes to stuff like this but PLEASE i cant spend any more money and i am sure the solenoid is good i just put it on there.... thanks

    well i took the button apart and tried connecting the wires but still nothing so somewhere i have a bad wire, im done lol so i am just going to bypass it py running some wire from the solenoid posts to a push button that i can hide somewhere that way i dont have to redo the kill switch

    And then figure it out and fix it properly instead of jury-rigging your way into a new problem.
