After a long winter (did anyone actually get winter this year) of waiting. There have finally been two new additions to the herd.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the new steads.

Bad Moon: 1983 XJ 750 MK Midnight Maxim.

As it was when it arrived home.

Bad Moon started with the purchase of the tour package from member AlbuquerqueChoppers to be used on the Nemesis project.

As in all good plans of mice, and men. The tour package turned out to be in far to nice of condition to be placed on a ragged out project bike. Needles to say. Plans changed, and I was left with a nice tour package, but no bike to install it on. After agonizing over what to do with the tour package it was decided that another bike was needed.

Enter member hogfiddles just about that time offering up his Midnight Maxim. With a custom painted tank highlighting a flawless application of a ghost flame (Believe me. This ghost flame is nearly impossible to see unless you are viewing from the correct angle). What better way to show off that nice tour package than with a bike that is special in its own right.

Bad Moon will be kept as a running restoration and documented here as an attempt to help some of the newer members that are just starting out riding on the process of recomissioning a 30 year old yamaha.

    Onto the next ride.

    Wyldfyre: 1982 XJ750 J Maxim

What can I say. I have a soft spot for abused older yamahas. And it was part of the package for Bad Moon. The picture does not do justice to the bike. It is actually in better shape than it appears. It is basically complete less the artari, and headlight with a few minor pieces missing. Wyldfyre was someones pride at one time, as can be seen from the complete set of chrome engine covers, and custom paint w/matching side civers.

Wyldfyre has been given to the better half to be reborn with the understanding that she will get her CY endorsment, and provide the majority of the work in bringing it back to life. With me overseeing the process as it moves along.

The reason behind this is that I run long haul truck for a living, and if she is to ride the bike. I feel that she should know enough about it that she would be able to understand, and handle any problems that may arise with the bike while I am on the road.

Stay tuned as these two valiant steads live on.

Nice project bikes, and i would agree always have a soft spot in my heart for abused and neglected older bikes.

I'm glad I was able to get them both into your hands, Barry. You'll have fun with these, and it's going to be fun for ME to watch what you end up doing with them.
